Who We Are

Dr Manuela Trueby established Balmain Village Veterinary Clinic in 1992, in the heart of Balmain.

She recognised the need in the community for an easily accessible veterinary clinic which offered state-of-the-art veterinary services and holistic therapies but also provided a loving, personal and sensitive approach to pet and owner.

Dr Manuela is a proud member of the Australian Veterinary Association, Integrative Veterinarians Australia, Vets Against Live Export, Veterinarians for Climate Action and the German Small Animal Veterinary Association.

Dr Gary and his team give excellent care to our cats we bring in from our cat rescue shelter, WLPA Gladesville.
Recently, we received a rescue cat that had a severely dislocated knee. This was an old untreated knee injury, that rendered the back right leg useless, cumbersome and painful.
Dr Gary, after xrays and examination, recommended amputation of the leg.
The amputation was done recently and Giselle progressed remarkably well. She has a new lease on life, is happy and ready for adoption.

Amazing Vets, Garry and the Team are fabulous. We tried several other vets, treatments for our beloved Staffy – Caitlin!

She had been suffering with a really bad limp, which Garry then diagnoses as arthritis due to her age.

Garry recommended a prescription of a monthly injection and daily chews, after 4-6 weeks, Caitlin’s mobility has improved so much, that she is now loves her daily walks, less struggles getting up and down from the sofa.

She has been given back years to live and enjoy pain free.

I highly recommend the team here for their care and attention.

This is in my opinion the best vet in Sydney and the only truly holistic vet (I’ve tried them all.) I owe Manuela a lot in keeping my 16 year old cat healthy and happy. They are compassionate, positive, and they inform you properly on what your pet’s condition is, so you can be properly aware of their needs. Manuela also looks for ways to make her services as affordable as possible and doesn’t do unnecessary (i.e. expensive) testing if there is another alternative. I could not rate them more highly.
