Faecal Transplant Therapy for Pets
Faecal transplant therapy (FTT) is an advanced treatment option that supports the restoration of a healthy gut microbiome in dogs and cats. A balanced gut microbiome play a vital role in digestion, immune function and overall wellbeing. When this balance is disrupted – often due to chronic diarrhoea, gastrointestinal disease, long-term antibiotic use or stress – FTT can help reintroduce beneficial bacteria and promote intestinal health.
The therapy involves the carefully screened faecal material from a health donor, which is processed in our laboratory to ensure it is safe, clean and rich in beneficial microbes. The transplant is then administered to your pet, most often via a small enema, though alternative methods may be used depending on your pet’s needs. Many pets show improvement in stool quality, appetite, energy and comfort within days to weeks.
FTT is considered when conventional treatments have not achieved the desired results or when conditions are likely to respond to microbiome support. Our veterinary team will assess your pet’s individual needs and guide you through the process with care and compassion. We are committed to evidence-based therapies that improve quality of life and help your pet feel their best.
